Cybergenetics works with AFDIL to provide DNA security for Athens Olympics using TrueAllele Databank technology

Rockville, MD

Security is a paramount concern for all US citizens. When the 2004 summer Olympic Games were held in Athens, there was potential for terrorist violence, hence an immediate need for a DNA reference database of our American athletes. The Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory (AFDIL) contacted Cybergenetics, the one company in the world with the speed, responsiveness and DNA interpretation technology to solve their problem. Over a three week period, AFDIL embedded their staff in Pittsburgh, working closely with Cybergenetics personnel and a TrueAllele® Databank system to complete the DNA security project in time for the games.
