New York State Commission on Forensic Science approves Cybergenetics TrueAllele for forensic casework

New York, NY

The New York State (NYS) Commission on Forensic Science received a binding recommendation from its DNA Subcommittee to approve Cybergenetics TrueAllele® for forensic casework. Cybergenetics Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Mark Perlin and NYS Forensic Investigation Center (FIC) Biological Science Director Dr. Barry Duceman attended the meeting and answered questions. Several commissioners, including Innocence Project Professor Barry Scheck and Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick, commented on the merits of having an objective and thorough computer review of DNA evidence. Following the discussion, the Commission voted to approve TrueAllele for forensic casework.
