Cybergenetics TrueAllele computes DNA match statistic that aids homicide arrest
Pittsburgh, PA
Allegheny County homicide investigators charged James Yeckel, Jr. with the September 8th shotgun slaying of his parents, James and Carol Ann. Cybergenetics TrueAllele® analysis linked Yeckel to the killings by computing a DNA match statistic to a spent shotgun shell, which human review of the data was unable to do. County Medical Examiner Dr. Karl Williams credited Cybergenetics computer approach with making the DNA connection.
