Cybergenetics TrueAllele DNA mixture testimony in US Marine Corps court martial helps secure conviction

Cybergenetics Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Mark Perlin testified at a United States Marine Corps court martial in Quantico, VA about DNA mixture evidence on October 25, 2011. The case involved a rape in the town outside the military base.
Cybergenetics TrueAllele® computer had analyzed the evidence data, which contained two or three unknown contributors, and found a statistical match to the defendant of 284 million. During three rounds of direct and cross-examination, Dr. Perlin explained the computer methods and DNA results to the jury.
The defendant was convicted, and found guilty on all charges. He was sentenced to 3 years in the brig, and a dishonorable discharge from the Marine Corps.
