Cybergenetics TrueAllele helps convict Northern Ireland man in Massereene murder and paves the way for DNA computing

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Republican dissident Brian Shivers was convicted of homicide, and sentenced to life in prison, for the murder of two British soldiers in the Massereene Barracks shooting. DNA evidence linked Mr. Shivers to the getaway car used in the gun attack. Cybergenetics TrueAllele® technology computed the DNA match scores given as evidence at trial. The Massereene precedent paves the way for TrueAllele computer interpretation of low level or mixed DNA evidence in the United Kingdom.
