TrueAllele computer analyzes DNA mixture evidence that links McKeesport man to homicide
Pittsburgh, PA
Leland Davis was convicted today of third degree murder and weapons charges in the 2008 McKeesport slaying of Tamir Thomas. The Allegheny County crime laboratory testified on Friday about DNA evidence found on a handgun and a hat. Cybergenetics scientist Dr. Mark Perlin provided match statistics for these DNA mixtures of 18.6 billion and 89 quadrillion, respectively. Dr. Perlin also used TrueAllele® analysis to show that Mr. Davis, and no one else, was linked to both evidence items.
