TrueAllele connects suspects to piece of glove at crime scene
| Crime | On October 10, 2018, bodies of a father and his 14-year-old daughter were found in a burned rental car in a vacant lot. Other evidence showed that they had been tortured prior to being killed. |

| Match | The lab was able to use their in-house TrueAllele system to identify the defendant as the major contributor to the mixture. However, the lab was not able to report the match statistic between the minor mixture contributor and another suspect. |
| TrueAllele | The computer found that a match between the glove and the defendant is 16.5 octillion (1 followed by 27 zeros) times more probable than a coincidence. TrueAllele also found that a match between the glove and suspect Ronald Newberry is 182 thousand times more probable than a coincidence, with an error rate of 1 in 3.76 million. |
| Cybergenetics | On December 3, 2021, DNA analyst Jennifer Bracamontes testified before a Cuyahoga County jury about Cybergenetics’ TrueAllele results. |
| Outcome | On December 14, 2021, Gibson was convicted of two counts aggravated murder, two counts of aggravated arson, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of aggravated burglary. In February 2022, a jury rejected the death penalty for Gibson. On March 24, 2022, Gibson was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 50 years. |
