Abstract

TrueAllele unmixes DNA mixtures, automatically separating evidence data into genotypes without subjective choices. Comparing evidence and reference genotypes gives accurate match statistics. The TrueAllele workflow lightens the analyst’s burden of interpreting DNA evidence, freeing human experts to work on other tasks. The computer robustly interprets "uninterpretable" DNA evidence, getting more information by identifying minor contributors. This talk shows how easier DNA interpretation simplifies forensic science and assists criminal justice.
