Abstract

With DNA mixtures, more contributors produce more complex data. Greater uncertainty makes data harder to interpret. We validated TrueAllele Casework on mixtures containing up to ten unknown contributors, measuring sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility. We found that assumed contributor number had little impact on genotype inference. Moreover, DNA identification information depended more on the STR data than on program parameters.
