Cybergenetics TrueAllele DNA match helps convict Falls Church man of molesting Virginia girls

Arlington, VA

Political activist Michael Gardner was convicted on three counts of molesting two girls, ages 9 and 10, at his daughter's birthday slumber party in his home last summer. Mr. Gardner's wife Robin is a councilwoman and past mayor of Falls Church. Cybergenetics Dr. Mark Perlin testified at the trial that a DNA match between the defendant and a victim's underwear was twenty quadrillion times more probable than coincidence. The jury sentenced Mr. Gardner to 22 years in prison.
